Here are a few updates and reminders for the week:
- Information was sent home earlier this week regarding our May 14th field trip to Barkhausen. As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns with this. If you are interested in chaperoning this field trip and have your background check with the district updated, please let me know. We would love to have you join us!
- There is no school on Friday, April 27th.
- In math, students are focusing on telling time. For this standard, students are expected to tell time to 5 minutes and correctly identify AM or PM when given an activity that would happen during that time. Please look for opportunities to help your child practice these concepts at home. For example, if you have an analog clock, ask your child to tell time on the clock. Also, when you talk about activities and/or times throughout the day, ask your child if the time would be AM or PM. Any ways that the children can practice real-life time concepts is helpful. In addition to this, please continue to practice facts with your child and work on two digit and three digit subtraction and addition.
- During guided reading, students are continuing to focus on asking and answering questions while reading informational text. In addition to this, be sure to ask your child to work on his or her reading goal.
- Our butterflies have arrived for our science unit on life cycles. Each student is working in a partnership or group of three to observe the growth and transformations of their butterflies.
