Interest Fair

Interest Fair projects were due today! We had a great time learning from each person who created an interest fair project board during their presentations in class. Tomorrow we will have an opportunity to walk around the gym and see all of the Interest Fair projects from the whole school.

Building our Fluency Skills

We're working on building our fluency skills in reading this week! The 2nd graders learned that good readers sometimes practice reading in their heads or at a whisper-level before going back and re-reading out loud. They practiced using their whisper phones and did a great job!

Happy Birthday!

We recently celebrated this sweet 8 year old’s birthday! Thank you for the yummy cookies! We hope you had a fantastic day!

Personal Time Lines

The 2nd graders did a wonderful job with their time lines! We loved hearing the kiddos present their most memorable events in life and seeing all of the cute photos and captions in the hallway! Thank you families for all of the support with this project!

100th Day Writing

On the 100th day of school, we wrote about life at 100 and took some fun pictures with the help of an app called, “Aging Booth.” Check out a few examples:

Dr. Seuss Day!

We had so much fun celebrating Dr. Seuss all day! In the morning, we met with our Paws Pals to watch a book read aloud on the smart board, read dr. seusss books to each other and perform sinking and floating experiments with oobleck! We also enjoyed creative and yummy snacks from several of our wonderful families! The 2nd graders also continued to work on their “Thing 1 and Thing 2” writing prompts! They are still a work in progress, but we are excited to share them with you soon. Throughout the day, the 2nd graders collected several new quotes (all are. Seuss related, of course) for their quote rings. We even had a guest visitor, Mr. Pagel, come in and give the kiddos one of his favorite Dr. Seuss quotes! Thank you to all of the families that donated supplies for our oobleck, tissue paper for our writing crafts and yummy snacks! You helped make our day great! Also, thank you to all of the kiddos who brought in Dr. Seuss books! Having such a plethora of books made reading with our Paws Pals a breeze! :) Enjoy the many pictures from today.
*We continued to have kiddos show illness symptoms today. We did our best to sanitize and enforce good hand washing. Stay healthy this weekend! I’m thinking of all the kiddos that were sick! Hugs!
