A few things...

We sure have been busy in room 204 lately!
Here are a few of the things we have been working on...

These 2nd grade readers did such a great job with their fluency while reading their guided reading book, I had them practice together and then do a dramatic read aloud to the class. They did great!

We are working on wrapping up our social studies unit on "Life Long Ago." In class, the students were put to work with a partner to learn about long ago communication, transportation, schooling and housing. They took notes on big paper and up next, they have started to create pic collages for each of the 4 categories. Their last step will be to upload their pic collages into a book creator book and use voice over to show me what they learned. They are doing great so far!

I'm confident you already heard about this at home, but we discovered a new math website! The 2nd graders absolutely LOVE prodigy! I have to admit, I love it just as much! The kiddos have fun playing this "game" and moving up "levels." Meanwhile, I can track their progress, see what math questions they are working on (and if they answer them correctly) and even what 2nd grade benchmarks they are mastering or still need work on.  If you haven't already, be sure to have your child show you this app at home this weekend!

A few reminders...

*Please remember that tomorrow is a half day of school. Students will be dismissed from school at 11:45. Lunch will not b served at school, so please remember to make sure your child gets a good breakfast and packs a healthy snack.
