Have you ever wondered about the old school house on Suamcio's property?
We sure were lucky to have an authentic learning experience about it! We had a guest visitor who went to Tremble School as a child in 1938 come in and share a photo with us and tell us about her experiences there. This tied in perfectly with our social studies unit on life long ago. She told us about how there was one class and how the younger students sat in the front and the older in the back. The teacher would work with groups of students by grade level while the other students did their work. They never had "home work" because they did their work in school. She taught us that the teachers weren't allowed to get married and they for some reason couldn't make it to school, the whole school would be canceled for the day.
