Living Wax Museum

The 2nd graders have had a great time learning about many different important people in history. They have studied Martin Luther King, George Washington, Harriet Tubman, Abraham Lincoln and Ruby Bridges, to name a few. Each 2nd grader has also chosen one person that they have studied on their own in depth. They were asked to learn about who their person was/is and why they are important or famous. They were also asked to create a timeline of their person's life with important events and to learn interesting and important facts about their person. (These are still a work in progress. If you would like to send your child to school with poster board to help, that would be great! Otherwise, we will be used construction paper.) As a way to show off their learning, I am having the class create a "Living Wax Museum."  Next Thursday, April 11th, I am asking that the 2nd graders dress up like their chosen person. In the afternoon, we will present their timelines in their outfits to our Kindergarten Paws Pals and Mr. Welnetz. Please do not feel the need to go out and purchase anything for this. I have encouraged the kiddos to look through clothing they already have and get creative. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions and/or concerns. Thanks!

Here are some examples from the internet:
