We had a wonderful field trip to the Weis Earth Science Museum and Barlow Planetarium last week! The students really impressed me with their wonderful behavior and background knowledge on all things dinosaurs, rocks and phases of the moon!
A BIG THANK YOU to all of the wonderful parents that were able to volunteer as chaperones on our field trip. I truly appreciated all of your support and help!
Laila knew that we still mine for lead today in Wisconsin and our tour guide said she's never had a third grader know that before! Way to go, Lay!!!
I just LOVE the excitement in the kiddos' faces in this picture! :)
The third graders had some pretty phenomenal questions about the dinosaur bones here.
Up next, the kiddos (and chaperones :)) had an opportunity to touch a 67 million year old dinosaur thigh bone! So cool!
The kiddos sure had some pretty faces upon discovering that one of the rocks they could touch was Coprolite... aka: dinosaur poop. :)
I think everybody's favorite part of our field trip was the planetarium! It was pretty cool to see so much of what we are learning in class about the phases of the moon and changes in the stars on our field trip.
