Updates and Reminders

I hope you all had a wonderful week! I have just a few updates and reminders for you. 

1) We will have our MAPS testing for reading next Thursday, May 18th and our MAPS testing for Math on Monday, May 22nd.

2) Next Friday, May 19th is an Early Release.

3) Our field trip to the Caves is on Tuesday, May 23rd. More information will be coming home soon. In the mean time, plan on packing an additional set of clothing for your child and a water bottle. The following students also signed up for a bag lunch from school:

4) The Suamico "Track Meet" is to take place on Wednesday, May 24th in the afternoon.

5) There is No School on Monday, May 29th in honor of Memorial Day.

6) The third graders have been busy bees over the past week! They have been learning about and researching various plant and animal adaptations for a habitat that they chose (rain forest, forest, tundra, desert, or arctic). After researching, the third graders began (or finished) making a project to show off their learning. Students chose from a diorama, poster, imovie, pic collage, or other choices. We are looking forward to seeing their end result early next week!

6) The book fair was a success! Many third graders mentioned that they bought the book Wonder. So many, in fact, that we sold out. I looked into it and found a teacher deal on Scholastic Book Clubs. If we can get 6 kiddos that want to go in on it, I can order a hard copy copy for each at the price of $11.70. (Down from $16.99 at the book fair and any other book store.) As a second opportunity, I can still get the book for $14.00 if less than 6 want it.  Let me know if this is something you would like to do by Friday, May 19th. Thanks!
